DECEMBER 09
Anne Keefe, Associate Artistic Director of the Westport Country Playhouse, will speak about “The Westport Country Playhouse, Past, Present and Future.”  Ms. Keefe was named Associate Artistic Director of the Playhouse in 2001. In 27 years at the Long Wharf Theatre, she worked on over 70 shows.  Ms. Keefe served as stage manager at the Westport Country Playhouse in 1976. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Sono Ballet and has taught the third year stage managers at the Yale School of Drama. 

DECEMBER 16
Our annual Holiday Party is slated for Thursday December 16 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Continental Manor, Norwalk.  The choice of entrées is: prime rib, chicken or fish (epicurean delights.)  Dancing will be to the highly popular “Easy Trio”.  We will also be entertained by the Hoot Owls and by the versatile professional entertainer Jason Pepitone.  There will be a gift for each woman.  All this excitement is only $34 per person. DONUT HOSTS
The donut hosts for December 9 will be Manny Gallo, Dave Kidney, Tom McCaffery  and John Washburn.

MEETING FACILITIES
Setting up the chairs on December 9 will be  Neil Croarkin, Roy Dickinson, George Erickson and Shelly Lipsett. 

HOLIDAY FOOD BASKETS
Bruce Allen reports that the Y’s Men had many volunteers delivering food baskets on Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  

TRIPS AND TRAVEL

December 7 – Begin your holiday season with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular following a visit to the new Time-Warner Center and lunch at the Café Botanica.  The price is $119 per person and we are sold out but will accept stand-byes.  Contact Warren Rossell, 226-5357.

January 16 – Enjoy the burlesque musical Sugar Babies, at the Bridgeport Downtown Cabaret Theatre for the 5:30 matinee performance.  The price is $30 per person and we are sold out but will accept stand-byes.  Contact Norm Mason, 227-6233.

April 1/4 – Tour Washington D.C. at Cherry Blossom Time.  This 4-day tour will feature new venues such as the World War II Memorial, the National Air & Space Museum and the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian.  The cost is $548, per person, double occupancy, and a deposit of $100 is required to hold your reservation.  Contact Elliott Netherton, 454-0489.

June 27/July 5 – Enjoy the Blue Danube River Cruise, a 9-day escorted tour by Collette Vacations, featuring Prague, Vienna and Budapest.  The cost is $2,859 per person, double occupancy, including transportation from Westport.  A $250 deposit is required to hold your reservation.  Brochures are available and remaining space is limited so you are encouraged to make your reservation without delay.  Contact Elliott Netherton, 454-0489.

HIKES
The hiking group meets at the Saugatuck Congregational Church parking lot at 10 a.m.  Bud Martin (227-2448) should be contacted if you have any questions.

HOOT OWLS
The Hoot Owls will sing December 6 at the Westport Woman’s Club at 1:00 p.m.  December 8 they will sing at the Assumption Church for the seniors.  Their final performance in 2004 will be December 16 at our Holiday Party.

YOUR DUES ARE DUE
This is the final notice regarding dues.  After our next meeting, those who have failed to pay will be dropped as members.  This year the dues are $40.  New members will pay $50.  Payment can be sent to Michael Stashower, 14 Cardinal Lane, Westport, CT 06880 or be paid at one of the next meetings. Make your check payable to the Y’s Men of Westport/Weston.  If you are over 90 and apply to the treasurer, your dues will be waived.  Our fiscal year runs from July to June, and the dues are now due for the 2004-2005 year.  Thanks for your cooperation in getting dues in early so we don't have to do a lot of follow-up.
