Nevas, will speak on the subject "Judicial Activism: Is It Good or Bad?” Judge Nevas, a Stamford native, graduated from Syracuse University in 1949 and from N.Y.U. Law School in 1951. In 1981, he was appointed U.S. Attorney for Connecticut by President Ronald Reagan. In 1985, President Reagan appointed him as a U.S. District Judge. Judge Nevas and his wife, Janet, live in Westport and have three children, Andrew, Debra and Nathaniel. THURSDAY, JANUARY 25David Gaynes will talk about his documentary film, “Saving Hubble”, which recounts the recent history of Hubble, explores how the telescope became ensnared in a debate over the future of US Space Policy and celebrates the accomplishments of the spacecraft that came to ask questions not just about the universe, but of its inhabitants as well. David grew up in Weston , CT and currently lives in New York City where he is an active member of his community. He mentors at-risk teen filmmakers as well as edits his building's monthly newsletter. He is a graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton , New York

MEETING FACILITIESSetting up the chairs on January 18 will be Ernie Arnow, Stan Losak, Bob Reynolds and Alan Temple. On January 25 the chairs will be set up by Bob Comstock, Ralph Levitan, Tom Lowrie and Frank Michels. NEWSLETTER MAILINGThe Club spends $3,600 per year printing and mailing the biweekly news letter. Over 300 of our members have email addresses. If 200 of our members with email accepted receiving the Newsletter by email, we could save over $1,000 per year. Let me emphasize that anyone who does not have email, or those with email who wish to, will continue to receive a hard copy “snail mail”. CAMERA CLUBThe Tuesday, January 23rd meeting of the Camera Club will be held in the Board Room of the "Y" starting at 10:00 a.m. The subjects will be "Getting the most out of your camera accessories" and "How to create an outstanding panorama photo". Guest speaker Jason Smith will cover the first subject. David Kalman will present the second. Come see our "Chihuly's Glass Garden " exhibit at the Center for Senior Activities. There are fifteen great photos from nine Club members.
