Richard A. Foot, YMCA Executive Director and
CEO and members of his staff will speak on the subject, “Imagine The Possibilities”. They
will discuss the new full-facility Y to be located on the Y's 32-acre
Mahackeno campus and how it will serve the community now and in the
future. They will also discuss the selection of Robert A. M. Stern
Architects to design the new Y and will present preliminary site concept
drawings. Dick Foot assumed his responsibilities as the Executive Director
/ CEO of the Westport/Weston YMCA in 1996. A 1968 graduate of
Springfield College with a Bachelor's degree in Community Leadership
and Development, Dick earned his Masters of Urban Affairs degree from
Boston University in 1975. A Commissioned Officer in the United
States Army, Dick served a tour in the Infantry in the Republic of
Vietnam (1970-71).

William Rosenau is
a political scientist in the RAND Corporation's Washington office,
where he specializes in the study of political violence, intelligence,
and military special operations. He is also an adjunct professor in
the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. His topic will
be international terrorism and the possible outlook for the next ten
years. He received his education at Columbia (A.B.); Magdalene College,
Cambridge University (Honors B.A., M.A.); and the Department of War
Studies, King's College, London (Ph.D.). He graduated from Staples
and is the son of Celie and David Rosenau of Westport. He lives in
Washington with wife & son.

DONUT HOSTS
The donut hosts for April 28 will be Bob Bernstein, Bob Curtis, Alden
Harris and Fred Klein. On May 5 the hosts will be Roger Curtis, Don
Hendrickson, Dick McGurk and Bob Navin.
MEETING FACILITIES
Setting up the chairs April 28 will be Harry Audley, Harry Nossek,
John Rumely and Alan Stolz. May 5 the chairs will be set up by Bill
Huber, Shelly Lipsett, Marc Marcus and Ed Van Gelder.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Y's Men's Nominating Committee is continuing
to meet to consider recommendations for the Y's Men's officers for
the operating year 2005-06,which commences at the May Annual Meeting. The Y's Men's By-Laws stipulate
that the Nominating Committee consists of Past Presidents and is chaired
by the immediate Past President. This year's Chairman of
the Nominating Committee is Pete Wolgast and he welcomes any suggestions
for officers. If you are willing to serve in an official

reports that a team of members has created an updated contact directory
with phone numbers and email addresses for all members. This information
is on the website in the Members
Only section and in a printed list
that will be available at Thursday meetings and at the picnic. If you
want a printed copy please pick one up. We apologize for any errors
or omissions. We did our best.
As far as member pictures, last chance.
We will be taking pictures at Thursday meetings and at the picnic.
So, if you want to have your picture in the webpage Directory and
it is not already there, please have us take your picture.
SPRING GOLF AT LONGSHORE
Jack Farrell has announced that on May 11,
2005 there will be at Longshore a Y's Men's golf tournament. The
format will be the same as in past outings, prizes for low gross,
low net, long drive and closest to the pin. A fee of $5 will
go towards prizes. There will be a sign-up sheet at the meetings
and members can also contact Jack at Pen6dragon@AOL.com .
TRIPS AND TRAVEL
May 3 – Go Behind the Scenes at the Bronx Zoo for
an exciting guided tour. The cost of just $49 per person includes admission,
guides, gourmet box lunch and transportation. Sold out but we are accepting

May 25 - Enjoy a day at the Belmont
Racetrack .
The price is $58 per person and includes admission, lunch in the Garden

June 27/July 5 – Enjoy the Blue
Danube River Cruise, a 9-day escorted tour by Collette Vacations,
featuring Prague, Vienna and Budapest. The cost is $2,859 per person,

September 16 – Visit the
Goodspeed Opera House and enjoy the musical The Boy Friend, directed
by Julie Andrews. The price of $89 per person includes show, motor

The hiking group meets at the Saugatuck Congregational Church parking

The Hoot Owls will sing April 29 at Elderhouse in
Norwalk at 1:00 p.m. On May 3 they will sing at 12:45 p.m. at the Jewish
Community Center in Stamford. On May 5 they will sing at Meadow Ridge
in Redding at 3:15 p.m.
