CAPTAIN THOMAS BRUNDAGE, USN (RET), WITH THE NAVAL WAR COLLEGE,

SPEAKS TO Y's MEN, OCTOBER 26 TH

Captain Thomas R. Brundage, Jr. USN (Ret) Naval War College Foundation, will speak at the weekly meeting of the Y's Men of Westport/Weston on Thursday, October 26 th . His talk is titled "The Naval War College - Its History and Mission." The meeting begins at 10AM at the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East.

Captain Brundage currently serves as a Regional Vice President of the U.S. Naval War College Foundation with responsibility in Connecticut for increasing public awareness of the U.S. Naval War College. The college is charged with the responsibility of providing graduate level education for senior officers of all our armed forces, as well as a number of civilians from U.S. government agencies with national security responsibilities. Their studies prepare senior officers for major command responsibilities.

A graduate of Northeastern University, Captain Brundage entered the Naval Service in 1953 and retired in 1983. His active and reserve service began at the end of the Korean War and, as Executive Officer of USS SHARPS (AKL-10), participated in the rescue of civilian refugees from North Vietnam after the fall of Dien Bien Phu. He was the Operations Officer of USS CASCADE (AD-16), the flagship for Service Forces 6 th Fleet in the Mediterranean. Further service aboard destroyers, cruisers, and amphibious ships rounded out his afloat career as a surface warfare officer.

His reserve duties included a number of commands and command of all reserves in Connecticut and western Massachusetts. He is a graduate of a number of service schools including the Naval War College War Gaming School and, as a new Captain, graduated from the Naval War College senior course in 1974.

Captain Brundage and family currently reside in Hamden, CT and is a financial consultant with a national brokerage firm.
