AT THE OCTOBER 18th Y's MEN MEETING A PANEL OF FOUR EXPERTS

WILL TALK ABOUT “EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS”

“Are You Ready?” is the subject of the Thursday, October 18th meeting of the Y's Men of Westport/Weston. The panel of experts, who will talk about being prepared for emergencies, will be Chris Ackley, Fire Chief & Emergency Manager, Al Fiore, Police Chief (or a representative from the PD), and two representatives (see photo) from the Westport/Weston Health District: Susan Jacozzi, MPH, CHS, Director of Health who holds a Masters Degree in Public Health and is a Certified Health Education Specialist and Monica Wheeler, RN, MSN, who has a Masters Degree in Nursing & Health Administration. The meeting begins at 10AM at the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East.

They will talk about the importance of every resident of Westport & Weston being ready for emergencies. Only when every resident makes emergency preparedness a personal responsibility will we be truly prepared as a community! Westport and Weston have embarked on a campaign to create a “culture of preparedness” throughout our community. Our panel will introduce Y's Men members to the official Westport/Weston Emergency Preparedness Guide and offer practical action steps to take to assure that all of us are personally ready to cope in emergencies. Using this all-hazards approach makes preparing for hurricanes to pandemic flu a less daunting task!
