WELCOME TO THE YʼS MEN OF WESTPORT/WESTON
Welcome to the largest and most dynamic semi-retired and retired menʼs organization in Fairfield County, if not the State of Connecticut!
There are over 440 members of the Yʼs Men of Westport/Weston, all sharing the
common desire of a continued life of fulfillment and contribution.
The motto of the Yʼs Men is “Enlightenment, Fellowship, Community Service.”
Enlightenment is achieved through attending the Thursday meetings, hearing outstanding speakers, participating in such activities as the International Discussion Group, the Investment Club, the Macintosh Round Table, various tutorials, and taking any number of cultural day trips.
Fellowship is enjoyed at monthly dinners at different restaurants, our annual holiday
party, weekly summer evening picnics at Compo Beach, singing with The Hoot Owls,
hiking, boating, golfing, bowling, skiing, playing bridge, tennis, ping pong plus
participating in the many extra “trips and events.”
Community service ranges from Meals on Wheels to delivering food to homeless
and other community centers, assisting with community clean-up programs,
volunteering at the annual Library Book Sale, student mentoring and many more
by-request activities.
In order to maximize your experience with the Yʼs Men, I recommend these initial actions:
As a fairly new member said to me during a hiking outing a couple of months ago, “ I had an enjoyable and successful career, but you know, I am having the time of my life now!”

The Y's Men of Westport/Weston, an organization of about 450 retired and semi-retired men, is the largest group of its kind in Fairfield County. Members are from diverse professional backgrounds including executives from major corporations; businessmen; advertising, public relations, marketing and media executives; physicians; computer experts; airline pilots; government officials; artists; and musicians.
Every week, on Thursday at 10 am from September through May, members can attend a meeting at the Unitarian Church and hear prominent individuals share their experiences. The speakers include national and state legislators, historians, authors, financial experts, film makers and legal and medical professionals.
The Y's Men participate in a wide variety of activities (more than 20 in all) such as golf, bowling, photography, tennis, skiing, bridge, chess, singing, investments, sailing, hiking, and table tennis. Organized trips have taken groups throughout the United States and Europe. In the recent past, dozens of Y’s Men with their spouses or significant others have enjoyed cruises, concerts, plays, musicals and dinners.
The Y's Men also provide volunteers for numerous community programs such as providing transportation to medical services for the frail and elderly, delivering Meals on Wheels to the needy, assisting at Norwalk Hospital and providing manpower at parades, foot races, and other Westport and Weston events.
